I snapped this picture on my phone (which explains the haze, sorry) at my local cafe earlier this week.
It's a gorgeous photo from a 2010 edition of Inside Out Magazine...ahhh, such beautiful styling. The wallpaper, which I adore, is Gravity by Emil Kozac available from (at the time) Ferm Living.
Emil has also collaborated with Kelly Slater to produce some incredible surf boards worth checking out.
Our doubts are traitors and make us lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt. - Shakespeare.
This is a reminder for myself as I am often easily overwhelmed by the incredible abilities of other people. Crazy! I know. Breathe, keep it simple and put one foot in front of the other.

A winter cure.
I came across this image in the Craft Almanac April 2011 email. These fabulous Cacti are made by craft botanist Andrea Daniel, can be purchased from Counter at Craft Victoria and range in price from $29-$295. They are made from wool, yarn and recycled materials, the perfect plant...for any household.
The Beauty of nature is an awesome cure for all ills. - Ben Stein
These cacti would certainly cure me of the winter blues. I think I'll have to invest in some for my windowsill.... to ward off any lurgies....real or imagined.

Not so...Crafty Monday
Today was one of those days when the stars didn't align for crafting. Instead I picked up my new Mac computer!
I've previously been a PC girl, all by default really. I stumbled into an office job and then another until I was completely immersed in Microsoft. I've longed for a good excuse to buy a Mac.....not sure the excuse is so good....or that I even have one for that matter but here we are, my Mac & I, and I'm pretty darn chuffed.
I've just set him up and I'm eager to explore all sorts of wonderful things but I'm having trouble working out the basics...like how do I cut and paste on a Mac?
It's a little like dating someone who doesn't speak english.....the language of love is a wonderful thing...but if you can't communicate the basics, well, things can get a little frustrating.
This gorgeous gum was a beacon, heralding it's beauty amidst the dreariness of a bleak Melbourne morning, this morning. How could I just walk on by (uh oh now I've done it, Dionne Warwick's 'Walk on By' is on repeat in my head).

've always been a huge fan of Denyse Schmidt's quilts and now I have another crazy quilter to add to my list of inspirational crafters... Susan Beal. Her latest book Modern Log Cabin Quilting is on the top of my wish list.
Another lovely weekend ...... over. Thanks to all who shared a piece of it with us. xxx

I have an out door laundry and although in summer I love to spend time outside doing the washing, Autumn & Winter started to become more of a chore..... The washing began to pile up & we seemed to run out of clean
clothes on a regular basis. Such was my aversion.
Something had to give. Then one day I had an idea to make the laundry my 'inspiration room'. Instead of the usual inspiration board I wallpapered the walls with beautiful images, inspiring people & things I love (like the tiles above) and now it's quite possibly my favorite room in our house.... all year round (and we always have clean clothes!!!).
This says it all really; Most people spend more time and energy in going around problems than in trying to solve them (ahem, guilty). Henry Ford
